Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions, or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters into us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it…
(Patrick Süskind, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer)

Schnozz~Lit is a participatory scent-filled experience designed for small groups.
Together we explore a variety of classic (and not so classic) texts while engaging noses, tastebuds, hearts and minds.

Over tea, Schnozz~Litters listen, smell, taste and talk. After a short refreshing break, there is an opportunity to explore scent memories and create a piece of collective writing.

The inaugural event was held at Café 143, Bronte, hosted by Charles Babinski and Natalie Toren.

John Samaha was our Orator. Featured authors included Marcel Proust, Patrick Suskind, Virginia Woolf, Cathy Park Hong, and Joanne Harris.

Designed for small groups, the event was facilitated by Natalie Toren, yours truly, Tammy Burnstock, Michelle French and Stephen Burstow. With help from Cat Jones.

If you are interested in hosting or attending a future Schnozz~Litt event please get in touch.
