Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Stink-O-Vision

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Blu-Ray release in Stink-O-Vision with a thoughtful scent track of nine distinctive smells presented through a scratch-and-sniff card. This edition quickly gained traction. Following its notable reception in both Australia and the U.S., it’s now featured in select theaters in Australia and New Zealand.

Invincible Summer

Invincible Summer was a group exhibition exploring climate consciousness and the shifting meanings of shared memories. Tammy Burnstock produced fragrances that juxtaposed evolving associations of familiar aromas—such as the transformation of fire from a symbol of communal gatherings to one of fear, due to recent bushfires. Presented at the Incinerator Gallery, this sensory experience features three primary fragrances: Capgras, an Australian bushfire, and coconut sun-tan lotion, with a harmonizing overlay of a custom ‘scent of hope’. This project facilitates deeper audience engagement, invoking nostalgia and contemplation.

Smell-O-Vision! conservation project

The Smell-O-Vision! Conservation Project is dedicated to the meticulous preservation of Hans Laube’s revolutionary Smell-O-Vision! technology. Undertaken in two primary segments, the project focuses on the restoration of the unique Smell Brain apparatus and the analytical conservation of the Scent of Mystery fragrance pivotal to the 1960 film.

ETERNITY LAND

ETERNITYLAND (2022) is an immersive theatre piece exquisitely intertwined with evocative olfactory experiences. Created by divine design, this realm is not just a feast for the eyes, but a journey for the nose. Let the rustic allure of The Cowboy, with notes of leather and tobacco, transport you; be captivated by The Mother’s suburban aroma of fresh grass, then jolted by the mysterious flowers-with-a-bite. Far Out Flowers

Far Out Flowers is an interactive public art installation. Encounter fantastical flowers: the alluring aroma of a tropical piña colada from an alien orchid; tactile cacti tempting with a playful blend of caramel popcorn and raspberries; and invigorating vines wafting lemony zest.

Curious Weeds

Curious Weeds (2022) is an evocative collaboration where fragrant tales are bottled and sketched onto silk scarves, painting the delicate relationship between personal identity and scent. Artist Roden beautifully translates Foley and Burnstock’s olfactory tales into wearable art, capturing nature’s tenacity. The collection is headlined by “Dancing in the Breeze”—a vibrant bouquet capturing summer’s essence. In contrast, “Far from the Tree” encapsulates an autumnal embrace beneath a pear tree.

Scent in Cinema series

The “Scent in Cinema” series marries film and fragrance, offering audiences tailored scratch-and-sniff cards for a synchronized multisensory adventure. Start with a virtual film screening, and round off the experience with a thought-provoking panel featuring experts, such as olfactory neurobiologist, Professor Leslie Kay, and scented cinema historian, Professor Catherine Clepper. Beyond just a sensory experience, the series delves deep into the crossroads of perception and cinematic arts, promoting dialogue and interdisciplinary innovation from luminaries in the UK, USA, and Australia.

The first scented animation, A Tale of Old Whiff (1960), is revived into a scratch-and-sniff journey. Experience the enchanting story of Whiff, the scent-challenged bloodhound, and sniff alongside him everyday aromas to whimsical fragrances.
